As a Loads Engineer you will provide support to airframe loads to include the definition, analysis, and application of structural design criteria and resulting airframe loads for various aerospace projects. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Participate in the day-to-day activities of assigned functional area assisting in the completion of tasks as required
Participate in selected engineering design, tests, and reviews
Assist in applying knowledge to analyze, investigate, and resolve non-routine problems. Assist in developing reports and memos
Flight loads analysis including steady state maneuvers, abrupt maneuvers, gust response, control surface hinge moments, and aero-elastic effects
Ground loads analysis including ground handling conditions and dynamic landing conditions
Miscellaneous loads analysis including canopy, doors, pressurization, engine mount, external stores, tie-down, and aerial refueling
Support flight test and ground test activities MELENG vehicleeng aslasvegas Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) degree in Aerospace Engineering or related technical discipline from an ABET accredited university with 5+ years' of work experience. (University coursework must include aircraft statics, dynamics along with having a fundamental understanding of aircraft aerodynamics) Knowledge of MATLAB, Nastran and basic programming concepts DoD Secret with background investigation within the last 6 year and the ability to obtain Special Access Preferred Qualifications: Ideal candidate will be proactive, highly-motivated self-starter Have the ability to quickly understand new concepts and apply them accurately Follow general and detailed instructions as well as organizational policies and procedures Must possess good communication and interpersonal skills to enable effective interface with internal professionals Must possess the ability to work independently and in a team environment Minimum of 2 years' experience producing flight and/or ground loads, and practical experience building analysis models to conduct static and dynamic simulations, interpret, and report results
