Description: Job Title: Quality Engineering Manager Job Code: SAS20230703-98065 Job Location: Palm Bay, FL Job Description: - - L3Harris's Space Protection & Control (SP&C) Business Area and IOS (Integrated Operations Services) is looking for a Quality Engineering Manager (or Associate Manager) to join the growing team. The Quality Engineering Manager will be responsible for end-to-end quality planning and execution for SP&C programs. The Quality Engineering Manager will also be responsible for the QEs assigned to multiple shared service manufacturing locations on the Palm Bay Campus including circuit card & microelectronic manufacturing and environmental test labs. The Quality Engineering Manager be tasked with driving continual process and product improvement and ensuring product and process integrity, leading to customer satisfaction and overall mission success. This position serves as the Business Unit Lead providing strategic and tactical direction for the SP&C Business area. This is a hands-on, heavily involved working leadership position with direct supervision and leadership of 8+ Quality Engineers. Essential Functions:

• Hands on program quality leader with responsibility for resolving technical challenges, ensuring successful tactical execution on assigned program(s) and overall business unit
• Responsible for the Quality Engineering function, supporting all business practices including quality planning, compliance monitoring and validation for programs, hardware and inspection.
  • Work closely with the program teams and the functional organizations in a Space Flight environment to ensure that all phases of the customer life cycle, from early customer involvement through post-delivery support, meet the requirements for mission success.
    • Direct manager of team of Quality Engineers assigned to SP&C & IOS. Responsible for performance management, career development & mentorship of assigned QEs.
    • Collection and analysis of internal performance metrics (including CoPQ) to develop zero defect plans and report to senior leadership on business performance including action plans to improve business execution and status of strategic initiatives.
    • Improve the efficiency of the Quality organization through effective leadership, individual and group training, and process improvement.
    • Lead implementation of new processes, activities, and culture that enhance the customer experience and engage every employee in a quality focused mindset.
    • Take a lead role in building a culture that reinforces compliance with appropriate laws, regulations and/or guidelines and internal command media.
    • Chair the P/MRB to disposition discrepant hardware throughout manufacturing process (supplier defects through field support) for assigned programs Qualifications:
      • Bachelor of Science degree in an Engineering discipline or technical equivalent with 9+ years of experience or Master's degree with 7+ years of experience.
      • Quality Trend Analysis and previous RCCA experience
      • Experience working with multi-functional teams (Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations) Preferred Additional Skills: (These are additional skills and experience that would be preferred in ideal candidates but not a deal breaker
        • Quality management or operations leadership experience - preferably in space antenna manufacturing areas
        • Self-motivated with demonstrated ability to motivate others to achieve timely results.
        • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills including communications, facilitation, consulting, coaching, and influencing
        • Experience with Configuration Control management practices.
        • Experience with NASA, J-STD and IPC standard implementation.
        • Experience within an AS9100 certified business.
        • Active security clearance Security Clearance:
