Description: Job Description: Sr. Manufacturing Engineer Job ID: ES20182409-27612 Job Location: Palm Bay, FL Job Description: Harris is searching for talented Manufacturing Engineers to support the development of high speed avionics hardware and manufacturing processes. This position will focus on the development and implementation of Lean manufacturing concepts to facilitate medium-high volume manufacturing work cell efficiency. Responsibilities Include: * Implement and analyze manufacturing plans and projects. * Estimate manufacturing costs, determine time standards, and make recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines. * Support the root cause and corrective action process. * Lead Manufacturing, Test, QA, Supply Chain, Program and/or functional organizations-teams through Harris Business Excellence (HBX) strategy, Lean Continuous Improvement projects and Kaizen events. * Focus on assembly line efficiency improving Value Stream, Heijunka and Kanban * Implement Lean initiatives to eliminate waste out of processes, reduce cycle times, and mistake-proofing. Qualifications: * Bachelors Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or related discipline and 9 years of related experience OR Graduate Degree and 7 years of related experience * Experience in CCA manufacturing and mechanical assembly * Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and/or Black Belt Certified * Extensive Knowledge and Application of Lean tools and Principals: * 5S+1 * Standard Work * Value Stream Mapping (VSM) * A3 Problem Solving * Root Cause Analysis * Visual Management * Gemba * Pull and Flow * Cell design / 3P Preferred Qualifications: * Experience in Lean Manufacturing in an Aerospace/Defense environment. * Strong analytical and problems solving skills. * Exceptional interpersonal/written communication skills; can effectively interact with all levels of management. * Ability to work on multiple projects with limited direction * Experience with Microsoft Products: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Visio, and Project. * Ability to develop and manage organizational budgets.
