Mechanical Engineer, Lead Description: Job Title: Mechanical Engineer, Lead Location: Palm Bay, FL Job Code: ES-28878 Job Description: Looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to perform and lead Design for DFx, metrics, and process improvements initiatives, metrics improvements, and process improvements. Candidate will lead mechanical efforts with Design for Cost, Design for Manufacturing and Assembly, and Design for Additive Manufacturing. The candidate will present at the executive level and will have VP of Engineering visibility. The position is high visibility and requires frequent communication with management and executive management both written and in person. The position requires someone who is looking to drive positive changes, deliver tangible benefits to the productivity of Harris Corporation, and identify opportunities for improvement. Some Key Responsibilities: Lead the ES Mechanical Engineering segment in Design for DFx, metrics, and process improvements initiatives Work jointly with the department manager and cross segment team in metrics improvements Oversee and drive disciplined process improvement projects leveraging project management methodologies Develop and deliver executive-facing presentations on project status and objectives Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, or related disciplines 9+ years of relevant experience with Bachelor's Degree or 7+ years of relevant experience with a Master's Degree. Technical background in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering Experience in a minimum of one area of Design for DFx, metrics, and process improvements Professional experience with tools such as CREO, NASTRAN, Femap, etc. Preferred Additional Skills: Experience with Design for Cost, Design for Manufacturing and Assembly, and Design for Additive Manufacturing is a plus Experience in design or analysis of electronic systems, structures, or mechanisms, along with engineering drawing development Excellent communication skills; ability to communicate, present, and collaborate effectively Ability to implement and adapt project execution plans that will achieve technical, cost, and schedule requirements Experience with design of mechanical electronics packaging Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) process and techniques Please be aware that many of our positions require a security clearance, or the ability to obtain one.
