Job Description:

To be fully engaged in providing Quality / No Harm, Customer Experience, and Stewardship by: strategically aligning Clinical Education Programming and Services with organizational goals, objectives and initiatives. The Manager of Learning and Professional Development designs, develops, implements and evaluates clinical programs for orientation, in-service education, competence assessment and validation, continuing education, certification courses and formal allied health courses. Leads staff by including them significantly in effective planning and decision making that positively affects departmental results and contributes towards the overall success of Health First. Evaluates the need for new programs and services and/or elimination of services that no longer add value to customers or those programs/services that are not financially viable. Designs, develops, implements and evaluates clinical education programs for orientation, in-service education, competence assessment and validation, continuing education, certification courses and formal allied health courses. Develops learning opportunities through formal classroom programs, distance learning, computer based training and self-study modules. Performs system-wide needs assessments using the Learning & Innovation needs assessment model. Develops learning activities, which promote learning in all three domains: cognitive, psychomotor and affective, addresses different learning styles and utilizes adult learning principles. Evaluates and debriefs instructor performance, coachs instructors to improve teaching and facilitation skills. Designs, coordinates and evaluates nursing orientation activities to effectively meet the needs of the nursing department with regards to core competency requirements of new associates. Presents, teaches and facilitates clinical, leadership and organizational programs using a variety of instructional techniques and interactive activities to meet the needs of the adult learner. Promotes understanding of cultural differences that affect healthcare consumers and learners. Collaborates in achieving financial goals established for Learning and Innovation Department and recommends financial goals for the future through efficient budgeting, effective monitoring, and careful review/correction of deviations from the approved budget. Demonstrates Lean Thinking by identifying and implementing ways to reduce waste, costs and expenses without sacrificing quality or customer satisfaction. Recommends new or improved processes, services or equipment to enhance efficiency and productivity. Uses cost/benefit analysis and ROI principles to determine feasibility and value of new and/or ongoing programs and services to meet organizational goals and initiatives. Qualifications: Graduate degree in nursing or related specialty required. If the Graduate degree is in a related specialty then the baccalaureate degree is required to be in nursing. Minimum of three years of experience in healthcare management required Certification in Professional Development and Continuing Education or other applicable specialty required Minimum of three years of recent clinical education experience at the system-wide level Demonstrate expert knowledge of the Education Design Process and Principles of Adult Learning Demonstrates excellent teaching and facilitation skills and ability to engage an audience Proficient in MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) Working Knowledge of People Soft applications and its usage for education Strong written and verbal communication skills Please Apply At: https://healthfirst.taleo.net/careersection/hf_ext_cs/jobdetail.ftl
