The tasks and responsibilities include:\tAssesses, plans and evaluates patient care needs. \tPrioritizes patient care based on acuity level and available resources. \tCarries out physician orders. \tAssists physician during examination, treatment and procedures. \tAdministers prescribed medications, changes dressings, cleans wounds, monitors vital signs. \tServes as the primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. \tMonitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems. \tInstructs and educates patients and families. \tAssesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team. \tProvides age and culturally appropriate care. \tOrients and mentors new staff members. \tFollows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required. Position Requirements: FL RN Licensure\tRecognized Compact Licensure (subject to Florida State Licensing Requirements, including/not limited to ongoing eligibility and duration provisions)\tCurrent BLS, ACLS & PALS Certifications (American Heart Association or American Red Cross) \tPrevious ED experience preferred\tCustomer service abilities including effective listening skills\tCritical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment\tAbility to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 pounds.
