Responsibilities:

• 
  
• Interfacing with internal customers to assist in the selection, evaluation, and application of numerous materials and processes relevant to the technical activities.
  
• Experience in a hands-on lab environment involving manufacturing process development of structural/non-structural bonding, coating, molding applications.
  
  Essential Functions:
  
  
  • 
    
  • Metallurgical and electronic component cross-sectioning and polishing including sample preparation, potting, etching, and microscopy.
    
  • Adhesive bonding including surface preparation, cleaning, chemical etch, and priming.
    
  • Drawing interpretation per ASME Y14.100.
    
  • Working with internal customer teams in a development lab and development type environment.
    
  • Working with minimal supervision and high degree of initiative.
    
  • Working with and around hazardous chemicals.
    
  • Assisting in routine laboratory operations.
    
    Qualifications:
    
    
    • 
      
    • Associates Degree with 6 years of industry experience.
      
    • OR High School Diploma with minimum of 10 years industry experience in a laboratory environment.
      
    • Experience with cross-sectioning, polishing, surface preparation, chemical etch, and priming.
      
      Preferred Additional Skills:
      
      
      • 
        
      • Knowledge of machining operations.
        
      • Proficiency maintaining and troubleshooting laboratory equipment.
        
      • Competency in MS Office Suite and proficiency in documenting procedures.
        
      • Works well in team environment with good communication skills.
        
      • Ability to work on multiple projects at one time.
        
        Must Haves Skills:
        
        
        • 
          
        • Metallurgical and electronic component cross-sectioning and polishing including sample preparation, potting, etching, and microscopy. (at least 2 + years of prior experience).
          
        • General lab testing skills.
          
        • Competency in MS Office Suite and proficiency in documenting procedures.
          
        • Attention to details and accuracy.
          
        • Good communication skills.
